Collection: All Products, Close-Up Magic, Effects, Parlor Magic, What's Hot, What's New

A classic of magic revisited credited to Lyman Allen and originally titled Blok-Kord, it has been sold in the past by various craftsman rarely who credited its history and referred to by various names such as Bloc Drop by Bill Adam's Century line of Apparatus.

This is the first batch we have coming in post the Stevens Magic Fire crafted by Richard Spencer (who has made some of the most prestigious wooden magical apparatus) with special thanks to Shawn Reida

Each block is specially crafted and custom cut by Richard, and stained for continuity of color. The cord features individual wooden long tips. Please note this is different than some of the units we have sold in the past and variances in style may occur in the future.

Block Off Cord Revisited. A Golden Oldie From The Past! A block penetrates a rope, simply and beautifully—once or many times. Even in the spectator’s own hands! Each time more amazing than the last! This trick has fooled some of the best minds in magic due to the fact of the very subtle and simple method used to accomplish the trick. You will receive a length of rope/cord with custom wood end covers – rope color will vary. A hand-crafted, old world-style solid Wood Block approximately 3 inches in size. The lineage that established the quality of this revisited product was originally crafted by Louie Gaynor. After Louie’s passing Ben Johnson came on board and most recently Richard Spencer has crafted a limited number.

For this SKU, each block and rope is handmade by Richard Spencer exclusively for Stevens Magic.

These are a working performer’s model that is durable and will last a lifetime. Various suggested routines are included as well as Shawn Reida’s 3-phase routine that he perfected over time. We know you will enjoy this classic effect in your show. An impossible penetration. Far too often the hobbyist is on the haunt for the latest self-working gimmicked effect of the month, something that resembles a James Bond item created by "Q." But working pro's know what really hits consistently and that is classic magic that is non-gimmicked. Think of the success that Dean's Box had for example, it could be examined all day long. Same with for example the cups and balls. Working pro's will always choose effects such as these over clever gimmicks.

I spent a lot of time talking with our customers and they ask me often for something unique and good – so we decided to create one of my favorite effects! – Shawn Reida

Note: This is the Richard Spencer version of this effect that features slightly different coloration and wood tips for the cord. Each product comes with a password and vimeo link that will provide a speed tutorial that teaches you pretty much the one simple move you need to learn. Additional written instructions are also provided with diagrams and illustrations so you get the best of both world.

“Hey Shawn, I’m quite BLOWN AWAY by your Block Cord Revisited! I VERY much like that 3 phase routine! Clearly, you’ve worked this prop to PERFECTION! All the audience remembers is “it’s JUST a block and a rope! That’s IMPOSSIBLE! It’s a REALLY rich, powerful trick and FOOLS EVERYBODY!.” Teller

Thank you, Shawn Reida & Stevens Magic. At 73 years old, this effect so old it’s new. And this is the BEST new magic I’ve purchased from anybody in at least 10 years. It’s perfect for stage shows, and yet I used it just this weekend at Old Cowtown as a CLOSE-UP effect. Great audience participation. Utterly deceptive. One crochety old guy snarled he was in the Navy and knew knots, and he demanded he get to try to make it work. I handed it over. He fooled around with it for a good five minutes before giving up.

This is a great update to my block-cord I had when I was a kid. It’s a very hefty block and rope so its top quality. The craftmanship of the work will last a very long time. Highly recommend. B

Just received Block Off Cord Revisited yesterday and find it absolutely entertaining. The wood work is beautiful and the rope that accompanies the trick is perfect. I would have to say that simplicity in a trick are the best works of art. And, Shawn also gives you 3 routines to use for the trick. It will stun your audiences.
