Bountiful Bowl by Owen Magic Supreme - Estate

I must confess this item really stumped me and I couldn't figure out what the heck it was. For a guy who grew up around magic all his life I was confused. I have to give credit to the mind that came up with this original methodology.

Availability: In stock

Collection: All Products, Stevens Estate

This beautiful item was created by Owen’s c. 1973 as a limited edition. It is a truly beautiful prop and an amazing production item. In essence this is a oversize version of the classic Bran Vase first described by Ponsin c. 1853 and later described in Professor Hoffmann  c. 1876 (The Bran and Orange Trick). The effect was improved by Paul Fox c. 1930 as the Paul Fox Candy Bowl.

The challenge for me was not only finding some suitable confetti and a sensible load but also finding a container that I could reach into to add the confetti. Due to the size of the bowl you need a fairly large container to hide the action.  I settled on a 12″ x 12″ x 12″ black gift bag which packs flat when not being used and provides plenty of room to load the confetti and doesn’t look out of place in your act.

No instructions are included in terms of originally.  However, if you watch Andy's speed demo you will be able to understand the methodology.   One thing is for sure this is a prop that resonates antique magic.  I can see it on a shelf with other medal productions with chick and dove pans and Cups and Balls.   I have a love for staging props to create ambience.  My favorite job would be in charge of botiquing rooms with magic props for movies sets, plays or magic venues.  This will definitely be a unique piece in your collections.

Effect: This spun brass bowl is one of the most beautiful pieces of magical equipment ever produced. It could be a fine centerpiece for the table of the most fastidious home. The magician fills the empty bowl from a box of confetti and upon removing the lid reveals a mound of fresh fruit or candy for the audience, or three snow white doves. Limited edition only.

Comes with additional black bag (similar to what Andy used in his speed demo), which normally is not included but keeps you from having to go out and schlep on.  It's always nice whenever possible to receive all the necessary pieces required.  In some cases performers may have their own ideas and preferences for using other accessories (such as with silks regards to color and size) but in this case all you need is to add for paper confetti to execute the effect.
