This is something for everyone. A funny, simple and GREAT idea by our good friend, former president of The Magic Circle in Sweden, Per Eklund. Manufactured by hand and offered only and exclusive by your favorite magic shop in Denmark.
The presentation goes like this:
“Have you ever thought of how magicians treat their playing cards? They let the cards disappear, appear, they tear them apart, let them be signed and sometimes even have them burned. In the end all the cards are thrown away. I don’t do that. I save all my playing cards. Each card carries a story that I want to preserve. That´s why I make books out of the playing cards I´ve used. This is one of those books in my library…”
With these words you bring out “The Book of Cards” along with a folded piece of paper, which you present as a prediction. You flip through the book filled with red-backed Bicycle playing cards and explain the stories and memories behind a few of them with signatures, marks, shot-holes, fingerprints, kisses, etc..
You turn to the spectator and ask him to select a random card in the book, so you can tell the story about it. When he has chosen a card, you act surprised and explain: “I can't believe it. Of all the cards you could have selected, you selected that one! All the playing cards have their own story, EXCEPT THIS ONE!
You ask the spectator to unfold your prediction, which not only REVEALS the name of the chosen card, but also confirms it is the only card without a story. And not only that, what makes it even more interesting is, that it happens to be THE ONLY CARD WITH A GREEN BACK!
"So now, that card has a story, too! Now my book is complete and you and I have a special magic momory to tell!”
Lovely, right?! "The Book of Cards" can be performed anywhere, in a close-up setting, on Zoom and even in a parlour situation. It has an interesting touching story about cards that you have used during your magical career.
It is selfworking and comes ready to use along with a fine English instruction. If you want you can easily personalize it adding signatures, marks and your own stories.
