Die-Predict - Joe Schertz & Ernie Heldman

This is fun Ice Breaker Magic! This is the perfect "ADD ON" item if you're already turning in an order. I have to admit I had never seen this application added to increase the number of options in a prediction effect. I think the focus for magicians is this additional manner that was added which makes the result all the more unbelievable. Mark Stevens

My favorite line from the original patter reads: "I'm going to try an experiment in 'mind over matter," and even if you mind it won't matter because - I'm going to do it anyway."

EFFECT: The magician places a die in a pill bottle on the table and pulls a card from an envelope. After pulling a matchbook from his pocket he sets the card on it like an easel. He shakes the die inside the bottle to show what he wants to the spectator to do in just a moment. They roll the die, and the die matches with the prediction that was sitting on the table the entire time. This effect is a clever idea, that I personally have not seen before. This is an older effect brought back to life! It's the perfect "add on" item if you're already turning in an order or purchased individually.  There is room for growth with this effect regarding possible modifications and learning the 2nd phase that allows the prediction options to appear to increase to SIX.  For me is worth the price (as if it was a revelation to you as it was to me you immediately start thinking to yourself, what are other ways I can incorporate this using your own ideas to apply it creatively in other performance options.

Includes updated edited and updated instructions along with a short Human Ingredient that highlights a few facts about Ernie Heldman written by Mark Stevens.  Access to a Video instructional is also included.

Unfortunately we were unable to gather information about Joe Schertz, but our bet is he hailed from the St. Louis, MO region.  Ernie Heldman (1916–1977) was a well-known professional magician based in St. Louis, Missouri, active prominently from the late 1940s through the early 1960s. He ran a magic shop in New Orleans later in his career and was respected in the International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM) community. He contributed to or inspired various effects, though he's not as widely documented as some giants of the era. He was a good friend of Joe Stevens.
