The magazine was published in New York by the Conjurers' Magazine Publishing Company and ran as a competitor to established titles like The Sphinx. It was known for its bold, provocative tone—described by biographer Kenneth Silverman as having "medicine-show self-promotion and streetfighter taunts," which often offended fellow magicians.
