Imagine that you are checking in at a small hotel of magic. You get your key but it has no number on it. You call attention to this and the receptionist informs you, "This is your personal key. Make your own choice." "So, I took the pen and wrote my personal room number (my favorite number for example), on the key fob and put the key in my breast pocket."
On a note pad you now draw a hotel door and ask the audience what they think the number of your hotel room is? You ask for a two-digit number (after all, it is a small, cozy hotel with only 50 rooms for magicians only). You write down their number on your hotel door drawing and show it to the audience.
"Wouldn't it be fantastic if you have created a room number that is the same as the one that I have on my key (you ask the audience)? You then remove the key from your breast pocket and show it to everyone, and amazingly the NUMBERS MATCH!
