The magician asks three members of the audience, picked at random, to give him a number (one through nine), thus producing a 3-digit number. The number is written down on a note pad and the pad is given to one of the members of the audience. The magician walks over to the jewelry stand, takes the chain and lifts the locket up. The magician never touches the locket! He hands the locket and chain to the audience member to open. Opening the locket, a piece of paper is removed and it has the same number that was called out by the audience! In addition, you could vanish a ring or a marked coin to have it appear in the locket.
