Created by Fred Haenchen in 1931. The classic story is that
of Jiggs and Maggie. A half dollar, representing Jiggs, is
marked by a spectator as the story begins. "Jiggs" is placed
into the small slide representing the home of Jiggs and
Maggie. When Maggie’s not looking, Jiggs slips out and
heads to the bar, Dinty Moore’s Place. The coin is removed
from the slide and placed in one side of the two doored box.
When Maggie comes looking for Jiggs, she opens first one
door and then the next (as the coin is obviously slid from side
to side to hide behind the one closed door.) Finally both doors
are opened at the same time-Jiggs is not there." Maggie
goes home to find Jiggs smoking his cigar. The marked coin
is dumped out of the coin slide for verification. Use these fine
props with any story of your liking.
